Spring is in the air...
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We've been enjoying the beautiful weather and working on several house projects including cleaning up our much neglected garden. We worked outside for several hours yesterday weeding and putting new plantings in the ground. It was a large project and we managed to tackle it all in one day but there are several more projects behind this one. What spring projects have you been working on?

David Carter Interior Design
Today I wanted to share some more of David Carter's beautiful interior design portfolio. I am really drawn to his work which seems to be a bit playful and whimsical. I love the way he mixes luxury items with unique and quirky vintage finds. He also does a great job at mixing patterns and texture.

Travel by Design - 40 Winks
While researching London hotels for our upcoming trip, I stumbled upon 40 Winks, a unique hotel concept in which interior designer David Carter literally has opened up two of the unused guest rooms in his home to travelers. The property was used as a location house for several years before being opened up as a guest house. Sadly, the hotel is completely booked during our stay in London so I won't be able to check out this fabulous hotel in person but drooling over photographs of the amazing interior is enough for me!

Planning a trip...
On a whim this week Mike and I booked a trip to London and Paris for a few days in July. The trip is going to be very short and probably chaotic because we are packing so much into a very short window of time but I am beyond excited. I cannot wait to visit a Parisian flea market and see more of beautiful Europe. Last year's trip to Germany was amazing and I just can't seem to get enough of Europe - the culture, the food, the history - I'm hooked! If you know of anything we simply can't live without seeing/doing/eating while we are there please let me know! We are also planning a day trip to Cotswolds which looks to be so breathtakingly beautiful! I am literally counting down the days...so excited!!

DIY
I recently found this great diy project over at Honestly...WTF and I can't wait to try it out. It seems like one of those projects where you most likely have everything you need laying around the house (love those!). Anyone else spotted any great diy's around the web lately?

Secrets From a Stylist
Is anyone watching this amazing new show on HGTV? I love it, I absolutely adore Emily Henderson, she is so cute and real and incredibly talented. I tend to not be a fan of most shows on HGTV because they are usually all very put together and matchy-matchy but Emily's show is the exact opposite of that. She sources tons of vintage pieces and layers a room together in an amazing way. Her blog covers, in detail, behind the scenes info from each episode which is awesome for sourcing things you liked from the show and her personality totally comes through in her blog.

Flowering Branches
Before the holidays I found a beautiful blue carboy while vintage shopping. It's been sitting in our living room since I brought it home and I really want to put some flowering branches inside it. I checked with a couple of local florists but they don't carry that type of thing. I really miss the availability of great flowers, we had so many options when we were living in the city. Even bodegas carried flowering branches around this time of year. I managed to find an option online, Russ Wholesale Flowers, that sells in small quantities. Is anyone familiar with them or ordered with them before? They seem to have a lot of great options. Does anyone use flowering branches in their floral arrangements? I would love to hear any tips and tricks for decorating with them!
