Travel by Design - Nu Hotel Brooklyn

This week's Travel by Design is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods, Brooklyn!

It would be a mistake to visit New York City and never make it to Brooklyn which has become a haven for emerging fashion designers, great restaurants, and fun and funky home stores. The Nu Hotel is located on popular Smith Street and Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.

The hotel design was inspired by artist lofts and has a hip and modern vibe, much like Brooklyn itself. Found objects from old local landmarks and quotes from famous Brooklynites are scattered throughout.

There are three styles of rooms to choose from, The Nu Urban Suite, the Nu Standard, and the Nu Friends Suite which has bunk beds in addition to a queen sized bed, perfect for the weekend escape with friends or kids!

The environment was carefully taken into consideration with the design of the hotel which has many eco-friendly features such as sustainable cork flooring and organic bedding. Some other fun features of the rooms include chalkboard walls in the bathrooms, "jack packs" for docking audio, video, and computer electronics, and slate and glass showers with rain head fixtures!
